How to use the TV Guide

You can get to all channels through the TV Guide, see live programmes, and look ahead up to seven days to find out what’s scheduled on each channel.

If you have a Freesat 4K recordable Set Top Box, the Backwards Guide functionality will allow you to scroll through the TV Guide on your Set Top Box for the past 7 days and in some cases, watch a programme that you’ve missed.

Finding the TV Guide

Select the TV Guide from the Home Screen
When you open your TV Guide you will see what’s on now and you can scroll across to see what's on later or backwards to see what you have missed.
You can also find the TV Guide on the Freesat website.

Using the TV Guide

Use the arrow keys on your remote to navigate through the TV Guide. The arrow keys are usually labelled up, down, left, and right.
Scroll through the channels and time slots to see the shows airing now and what’s coming up.

Show info

Select a specific show by highlighting it using the arrow keys and pressing OK on your remote. Information about the programme will be displayed alongside accessibility features available and the if you have a recordable box, the option to record.
Press the OK on your remote to watch the programme live on the channel you’ve selected.

Leaving the TV Guide

To exit the TV Guide and return to watching TV, press the Exit or Back button on your remote.

What's on Now / Next?

Freesat’s TV Guide is the best place to find out what’s on.

You can select the TV Guide from the Home menu or by pressing the TV GUIDE button on your remote control. The TV Guide shows what you can watch right now and what’s coming up next on every channel. You can scroll through the channel list using the up and down arrow buttons on your remote.

When you highlight a programme, a short synopsis will appear at the top of the screen.

You can see what’s on over the next seven days by scrolling to the right. If your set top box is connected to the internet you will also be able to use our backwards TV Guide.

How do I set reminders?

You can set reminders for any programme that you don’t want to miss by highlighting the programme in the TV Guide, pressing OK and selecting Set Reminder from the menu.

If the programme is also available in HD you will be asked to choose whether you would like the reminder to be set for the programme in HD or SD.

You can review your reminders in the Reminders section of the Home Screen, by most recent or in alphabetical order.

To use it on our Set Top Boxes, find the programme you are after in the TV Guide, press Select and you will then see the option to ‘Watch from Start’. You will require an internet connection for this service.

*Please note that this feature is managed by the channels rather than Freesat so we cannot control which channels or programmes have them and which don't.
