Lorna Watson returns to Drama with a feature-length Christmas special that finds our favourite Vespa-driving nun stuck on a stranded train in the middle of the worst winter on record. But, when a precious jewel is stolen from a safe, and another passenger is found murdered, Sister Boniface is back to solving crimes to find both the jewel and the murderer (or murderers!).

Following a trio of 60th anniversary episodes last month, Ncuti Gatwa takes over the TARDIS for his first epic adventure as the fifteenth Doctor – The Church on Ruby Road. The Christmas special sees the Doctor come face-to-face with mysterious and mythical goblins as his life collides Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson).

The Festive Pottery Throwdown

Celebrities Hugh Dennis, Alice Levine, Joe Swash, Sophie Duker join judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller in the pottery studio this Christmas as they compete on two challenges – hand-building a Christmas birdhouse along with a surprise second task.

The Masked Singer Christmas Special

Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan, along with special guest singer-songwriter Leona Lewis and host Joel Dommett are back for a festive special of The Masked Singer. Hidden famous faces disguised as four new characters – a reindeer, decorations, a sprout and a partridge (in a pear tree!) take to the stage in this musical guessing game (show).

But when Vera quickly realises there is more to his death than what was initially thought, she must now work out whodunnit on an island only accessible at low tide, with a limited number of suspects. This Christmas special is based on the best-selling book – The Rising Tide – by Ann Cleeves.

Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2023

After almost two decades of being on the telly, comedic panel show Big Fat Quiz of the Year has now become a Boxing Day staple, as Jimmy Carr quizzes celeb panellists (Ayoade, Katherine Ryan, Mel Giedroyc, Mo Gilligan, Rosie Jones, and Kevin Bridges) about the past 12 months.
