How to watch Star Trek: The Original Series for free

Die-hard fans of Star Trek may already be familiar with the free-to-view TV Guide listings when it comes to their favourite show, but did you know there’s a place to watch the 1960s series without having to dig out your VHS collection or the DVD player that’s been collecting dust for decades?

Star Trek: The Original Series, if you aren’t familiar *shudders*, is about the crew of the starship USS Enterprise as they travel the Milky Way galaxy with the iconic Captain James T. Kirk, played by the legendary William Shatner himself (who recently actually went to space). The show quickly became a phenomenon with the opening line we're sure everyone and their mother has uttered at one point or another:

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.

So this is where it all began, all the favourite films and spin off shows that have come from it, all the movie and TV show references we can’t get enough of, it all boils down to Star Trek, now aptly named Star Trek: The Original Series, simply because there’s so much Star Trek out there and admittedly it can all get a tad confusing. If you’ve never seen Star Trek before, this is the place to start.
