freesat was set up to make sure that everyone has the best of free digital TV, no matter where they live in the UK.
freesat came together formally in May 2007 as a joint venture between the BBC and ITV. So while we're a brand new service, we've actually been around for a while. In fact we’re a not-for-profit company owned by the nation’s two most popular broadcasters.
freesat is a small team of people. We love what we do for you and we enjoy our jobs. We share your passion for great TV and are excited about bringing you the best of free digital TV.
freesat's Awards
June 2009: freesat is Highly Commended at the Broadcast Digital Awards for Best Use of Digital Technology.
June 2009: freesat wins the Best New Brand award at the Marketing Society Awards for Excellence 2009.
We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy free digital TV, plus free HD programmes, with no contract and no subscription, just a one-off payment.
And because innovation is at the heart of everything we do, we’re constantly seeking out new ideas to improve our service and deliver a great TV experience for everyone.
We hope you’re as excited about freesat as we are. We’d like to hear from you, so feel free to get in touch. To find out more about freesat, or to ask a question give us a call on 0845 313 0052.
